Kirk has over 30 years of experience leading strategic transactions, including business sales, acquisitions, and corporate growth investments, as well as directing relationships with private equity, venture capital and growth investors. He has completed $13.5 billion in over 50 strategic transactions across the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Middle East, India, and Asia in the industrial, medical, and technology industries, including software, hardware, and semiconductors.
Kirk started his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers as an auditor in Ohio, then migrated to a corporate finance role at LTV Corporation in Dallas. He served as the CFO of a $600M multi-national joint venture between LTV and Sumitomo, after which he joined the network equipment industry in corporate development at DSC Communications and Nortel Networks. At Nortel Kirk managed Nortel Ventures, which held over $250M of investments in 14 Venture Capital firms as well as 21 private equity investments. Kirk next joined as CEO New Mexico based TriLumina Inc., a leader in semiconductor safety technology for the automotive industry. TriLumina was acquired by Lumentum prior to its initial public offering.
Kirk is President of the North Texas Kereitsu Forum, the most active and largest angel network globally, co-chairs the Directors Group of Business Navigators and has served as a board member, adviser or observer with TriLumina Corporation, Concertal Systems, Inc., Actinium Health, Silver Apex Holdings, Neuro System FX, Inc., and Mesh Networks. He also served as a board advisor or observer to Tango Networks, Inc., Battery Ventures, VantagePoint Venture Partners, and StarTech Seed Fund.
Kirk holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University and earned an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University. He enjoys skiing, boating, cycling and spending time with his three grandchildren.
